In Poste de Flacq, Mauritius, Sagar Shiv Mandir is a shrine to Shiva. It is also known as Shiv Mandir, Goyave de Chine Temple.
Known for its large bronze Shiva statue and dramatic setting on a small island reached by a footbridge over the lagoon, it is regarded as one of the top Hindu temples to visit in Mauritius and is a popular sunrise viewing and pilgrimage spot on the east coast. Built in 2007 by Vikash Gunowa, who donated an estimated Rs 274,505,000 toward its construction.
Mauritius carries a distinct temple identity of its own: Home to Ganga Talao, the crater lake at the centre of the island's largest annual Hindu pilgrimage.
