Maa Sharda Devi Temple is located in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh, dedicated to Maa Sharda. The name Maihar is said to combine 'Mai' (mother) and 'Har' (necklace), from the belief that the necklace of Sati fell at this spot. The temple is regarded as one of the 51 Shakti Peeths of the goddess.

Maihar Railway Station is about 2.8 km from the temple. Nearest airport with regular flights is Jabalpur (Khajuraho Airport is closer at about 134 km but has limited flights). Maihar bus stand is well connected across Madhya Pradesh. The shrine can be reached by car, ropeway or by climbing the steps.
