Set in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Arulmigu Subramanya Swamy Temple, Marudhamalai is a shrine to Lord Murugan (Subramanya Swamy), worshipped here as Dhandayuthapani. It is also known as Maruthamalai Temple, Marudhamalai Murugan Temple.
One of the most visited Murugan shrines in western Tamil Nadu and a major regional pilgrimage centre, particularly on Tamil month-start days, Thai Poosam and Vaikasi Visakam. Marudhamalai is a hill temple to Lord Murugan about 12 km west of Coimbatore, in the Western Ghats foothills.

History
Marudhamalai is a hill temple to Lord Murugan about 12 km west of Coimbatore, in the Western Ghats foothills. Local tradition associates the hill with the Saptha Rishis who are said to have performed penance here, and with medicinal herbs, from which the name Marudhamalai (medicine hill) is derived.

How to reach
Marudhamalai hill, about 12 km north-west of Coimbatore city. Coimbatore Junction railway station is about 15 km away and Coimbatore International Airport about 22 km. Town buses run from Gandhipuram to the foothill, with a connecting hill service to the temple.
