Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Tiruchendur, in Tiruchendur in Tamil Nadu, honours Lord Murugan (Subramaniya Swamy), worshipped standing, facing the sea. It is also known as Tiruchendur Murugan Temple, Thiruchendur.
One of the six Arupadai Veedu and among the most visited Murugan shrines in Tamil Nadu. Devotees bathe in the sea before darshan. Tiruchendur is the second of the six Arupadai Veedu, the principal abodes of Lord Murugan, and the only one on the coast.
Tamil Nadu carries a distinct temple identity of its own: Land of towering gopurams and living Dravidian temple traditions, from the Chola masterpieces to the great Pancha Bhoota Sthalas.
