Arulmigu Subramanya Swamy Temple, Thiruparankundram, in Thiruparankundram in Tamil Nadu, is a shrine to Lord Murugan as Subramanya Swamy, worshipped here with his consort Deivanai. It is also known as Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple, Parankundram.
The first of the six abodes of Murugan and the site of his marriage to Deivanai; one of the most visited Murugan temples in southern Tamil Nadu. Thiruparankundram, about 8 km from Madurai, is the first of the Arupadai Veedu.

History
Thiruparankundram, about 8 km from Madurai, is the first of the Arupadai Veedu. Tradition holds it to be where Murugan married Deivanai, the daughter of Indra, after defeating the asura Surapadman, which makes it the customary starting point of the six-abode pilgrimage.
