In Yadagirigutta (Yadadri), Telangana, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Yadadri honours Lord Lakshmi Narasimha (an avatar of Vishnu), worshipped in five forms. It is also known as Yadagirigutta Temple, Yadadri Temple, Pancha Narasimha Kshetram.
One of the most popular Vaishnavite temples in South India, drawing thousands of pilgrims daily; Lord Narasimha is also revered here as 'Vaidya Narasimha' believed to cure ailments. A golden Sudarshana Chakra crowns the sanctum. Legend holds that Sage Yadarishi (son of Rishyasrunga) performed penance here with Hanuman's blessings, and Lord Narasimha appeared in five forms, Jwala, Yogananda, Gandabherunda, Ugra and Lakshmi Narasimha, worshipped today as the Pancha Narasimha Kshetram.
Telangana carries a distinct temple identity of its own: From Rama's forest shrine on the Godavari to a Narasimha cave hill and a UNESCO-listed Kakatiya masterpiece, Telangana's temples span devotion and engineering genius.
