Set in Kurukshetra, Haryana, Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva (Sthaneshwar Mahadev). It is also known as Sthaneshwara Mahadev Temple, Thanesar Mahadev.
A revered Shiva shrine; it is believed that a Kurukshetra pilgrimage is incomplete without visiting this temple, and the adjoining sacred tank is considered holy. According to legend, the Pandavas prayed to Lord Shiva at this temple to receive his blessings for victory in the Mahabharata war, and the water of the tank adjoining the temple is believed to be holy.
Haryana carries a distinct temple identity of its own: Land of the Bhagavad Gita and the Mahabharata, whose sacred sarovars and ancient Shiva shrines cluster around Kurukshetra.
Darshan hours and daily worship
Published sources do not give a single clean daily window for this temple; see the notes below for what is documented.
Reliable darshan timings were not available from government or Wikipedia sources consulted. A renewed search located the temple's Google Maps Business listing, which gives a consistent daily schedule of 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM with no midday closure listed. This is not an official government or trust-published schedule (the Kurukshetra district site and Haryana Tourism page, both checked directly, do not publish visiting hours), so it is recorded as the best available data point rather than a confirmed one. Poojas, entry fee and dress code remain unverified; verify locally before visiting.

Where this information comes from
Confidence: Low. Festivals (Shravan and Phalgun Shivratri melas) and the temple's place on the Ashtakoshi Parikrama circuit are confirmed from the official Kurukshetra district government site, and the existing structure's construction by Raghunath Rao Peshwa is noted on Wikipedia. A renewed search located the temple's Google Maps Business listing, giving a daily 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM schedule, the first concrete timing data found for this temple; this is not an official government-published schedule though, so poojas, entry fee and dress code still could not be verified from any source
