Omkareshwar Temple stands in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh, is a shrine to Lord Shiva as Omkareshwar (Lord of Omkara). It is also known as Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga.
One of the twelve revered Jyotirlingas and among the most sacred Shiva shrines in India; the island's natural 'Om' shape and its setting between the Narmada and Kaveri rivers add to its spiritual importance. Omkareshwar is the fourth of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, situated on Mandhata island in the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh, about 77 km from Indore.
Madhya Pradesh carries a distinct temple identity of its own: The heart of India, home to two of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the UNESCO-listed temples of Khajuraho, and the hilltop Shakti shrine of Maihar.
Darshan hours and daily worship
Published sources do not give a single clean daily window for this temple; see the notes below for what is documented.
Per the official temple website's own Time Table (shriomkareshwar.org, repeated identically on its Schedules, FAQ and Shighra Darshan pages). Darshan is closed before 5:00 AM, after 10:30 PM, and during the Aarti/Bhog/Shringar changeover periods; times may vary during festivals. One minor internal inconsistency was found on the official site: the prose paragraph on the Schedules page gives 4:00-4:15 PM for Sayamkalin Shringar and 4:15 PM onward for Shringar Darshan, while the site's own repeated table (on three separate pages) gives 4:00-4:30 PM and 4:30 PM onward; the table version, being consistent across pages, was used here. A FAQ answer describing 'Shayan Shringar Darshan 8:30-9:35 PM, currently closed due to COVID-19' appears to be stale leftover content and was not used, since it conflicts with the actively-maintained Time Table's 9:30 PM Shayan Aarti / 10:00-10:30 PM Shayan Darshan, which is repeated consistently elsewhere on the same site.
Poojas and daily rituals
Mangal Aarti (4:30 AM), Shayan Aarti (9:30 PM); special rituals include Jalabhishek, Panchamrit Puja, Laghu and Maha Rudrabhishek, and Narmada Aarti/Pujan
